Microbreweries

The beer industry has been booming within the last couple of years in Northern Michigan and we haven't been able to keep up! Here is where we've been and liked what they have:

- The Jolly Pumpkin (OMP)

- Right Brain Brewery (Traverse City) -- big space and board games!

- The Filling Station  -- great selection and yummy pizzas

Wine Tasting

List of wineries

There are A LOT of wineries to visit between Old Mission Peninsula (OMP; where Chrissy's parents live & where the ceremony will be held) and the Leelanau Peninsula. Here are just a few of our favorites:

- Bower's Harbor Vineyard (OMP) --where Tom & Claudine Petzold work!

- Left Foot Charley (Traverse City)

- 2 Lads (OMP) -- amazing view of the bay

- L. Mawby & Big Little Winery (Leelanau) - great bubbly and new up and coming winery

- Black Star Farms (Leelanau)

**If you plan to visit multiple wineries and would like a safe way to get around there are several transportations companies to arrange a tour -- one we recommend is Grand Traverse Tours

Day Trips

Plenty of fun towns and places to go to enjoy the outdoors, shopping, take in the history of the area:

- Leland (i.e. Fishtown)

- Sleeping Bear Dunes

- Frankfort

- Glen Arbor

- Suttons Bay

Beaches

Not to be too biased, but the water and beaches of Northern Michigan are some of the most beautiful in the United States. Although the water will be a little chilly in June, they are worth checking out:

- Old Misson Lighthouse (OMP)

- Glen Arbor (Leelanau)

Welcome To Traverse City!!

Chrissy's parents moved to Traverse City in 2007 and over the years of visiting, Dan and Chrissy have built up a couple of recommendations for family and friends visiting the area for the first time. There is plenty to do in Northern Michigan and these are just a few of our favorites!
